"The story of the Sun", by BBC -- 2006, is simply a great movie for the majority of people, in my opinion. It's not because there's much scientific knowledge included in the movie, but because of the ordinary understanding of the Sun, of what we're familiar with that has surprised its viewers the most. In my high school, I've come to learn about the sunspot, the solar flares; yet it was just a small scratch on the matter of what they really are and, for example, how the sunspots change when the sun reaches Solar Maximum -- the period it has the highest number of sunspots -- or Solar Minimum. The same feeling also emerged when I saw in the first part of the movie -- the scene where penetrating rays of sunlight illuminated the whole chamber in the Orkney Island at sunset on the winter solstice. The sun has unveiled some of the most surprising myth of the ancient civilization on Earth. A must-see movie for a nice beginning of your exploration into the world of scientific documentaries.
